I. Core Concepts and Characteristics
American Snap Swivel, also known as Ball Bearing Snap Swivel in English, is often directly called the gourd-shaped swivel or double-nose swivel in Chinese based on its shape.
It consists of two core parts:
1. Swivel: The top is a rotating part with an internal ball bearing to prevent the fishing line from twisting.
2. Clip: The bottom is a spring-loaded, clip-shaped metal wire hook in the shape of a gourd, used for quickly attaching lures, hooks or sinkers.
The most prominent feature:
· High strength: Due to its one-piece metal wire design and thicker wire diameter, its tensile strength is usually much higher than that of ordinary carabiners or Japanese split rings of the same size.
· Large opening: The clasp part has a large opening, allowing for easy attachment of various large lures, hook assemblies or sinkers.
· Ball bearing: Ensures smooth rotation even under heavy loads, with excellent anti-tangling performance.
· Durable: Simple structure with no complex moving parts, making it very durable.
